| Note – Because Paul has been so unwell, we are sharing these articles from the hundreds of thousands of pages of transcripts and audios of our Lighthouse research, in order to share with you—the reader—what Paul has learned and taught over the last twenty one years. In 2021-2022, the BBC unlawfully obtained highly sensitive and personal data through criminally stolen transcripts of personal and group counselling sessions and misrepresented them to the public in their docu-myth. An act of diabolical pride in and of itself! They will never live it down. They tried to decimate the public’s perception of Paul and all of us at Lighthouse Global, and have only succeeded in making us stronger, Glory to God! They know they wilfully deceived the British and global citizens. Repent! |
Out of twelve men who were closest to Jesus Christ during His three year ministry, one betrayed him.
None of the eleven saw it coming.
How could they be so deceived? He was so greedy and selfish after all!
“Outwardly Judas didn’t appear to have defective character. I’m sure of that. In fact, he must have had qualities and capacities which commended him. Three years, he was with the disciples, and Jesus said in the upper room in, in John 13, He said: “One of you will betray Me.” And all the Apostles responded. Do you remember how they responded? Did they say, “Is it Judas?” No. Every one of them said, “Is it I?” Why? They had no more reason to suspect Judas then they had reason to suspect themselves. They knew better about themselves and they assumed better about Judas. He was a fantastic hypocrite. He was so good at it, they elected him treasurer of the group. That’s right. They gave him the money. That’s how much they trusted him.” – John MacArthur
While we cannot take the 1 in 12 as a literal numerical model for the entire Body of Christ today, if we were to approximately extrapolate that worldwide, that means there are almost certainly hundreds of millions of people parading as Christians out of the 1.5 billion that identify as such, knowingly or not, who have that same Judas spirit. Who will likewise, betray Christ and those in Christ.
Facing The Reality of The Judas Syndrome
It can be easy to naively read about Judas and treat it as a Bible story as far removed from your personal current reality, unless you have actually lived it yourself.
It’s the person you least expect to betray you while they appear to be a man or woman who loved God, loves the truth and loves you. You see, Jesus knew Judas would betray Him and chose him anyway, to fulfil the Scripture and prophesy. The disciples on the other hand, had no idea Judas would betray them all. They were clueless. But after they found out he betrayed them, they became very, very switched on to the threat of a demon parading as a Christian.
In my experience, it’s a lot easier to realise you’re being targeted when it’s large-scale and obvious. It’s easier to recognise the Mainstream Media who are clearly lying and deceiving the public every day. It’s easier to see the government trying to coercively control and target its citizens through a façade of a pandemic like with the Covid virus. It’s easier to see the blatant, disgusting indoctrination from our schools targeting children to convince them that the truth doesn’t exist and that they can be whatever gender they feel like.
As evil and as abhorrent as that is, it’s nothing compared to the real threat we as Christians face every day. The Judas Syndrome is far harder to face and recognise, because of the deeply painful reality behind it. That we are targeted from within, where we are most vulnerable.
Coming to Terms with The Judas Syndrome in Your Life
“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” (Matthew 7:15)
Judas was a brother to the other eleven disciples. These were young men in the prime of their life. They suffered together. Journeyed together. They walked with the Son of God together and witnessed Him perform miracles… how could anyone betray that? Turn their back on that? These men were not buddies who met up for a social after work. They literally lived together, often homeless, with a bond that seemed unbreakable. They all told Jesus they would literally die for Him before He gave up His life.
What happens when you find out that a Christian who you have loved dearly, turns out to not be who they presented themselves as to you?
What if a pastor, who’s personally discipled you, journeyed with you, cried with you, invited you into their family, one day, completely ostracises you from their life and the whole congregation without notice?
What happens when a family member, who you’ve prayed with, were baptised with, studied God’s Word with, feasted and fasted with, turns out to abandon you in your hour of need?
What happens when your spouse, who you personally baptised, loved and sacrificed so much for, turns out to be living a double life behind your back?
What happens when a Christian says they want to support you, defend you, help you to build your life because you were attacked by the kingdom of darkness, come to you in your hour of need, but you find out that they’re just using you to inflate their self image, their wallet, their career and they sell you out to that very same kingdom of darkness?
I’m not asking these questions and making these points to induce paranoia, but to raise caution and awareness. This is a call to greater love, not cynicism. I am pleading with you to grow up in your wisdom and discernment. To become a Grown up Christian, and not remain infantile. Our Lord said there are ravenous wolves who will feed on you, while presenting themselves as an angel in your life. Please don’t take that lightly. They do not care about you, your life, or your needs. But they’ll tell you they do.
Here is a secular insight, on some of the verbal manipulation that can be employed to deceive you from listening to your God-given conscience, as to who these people are…
False Allegiance: The Heart of the Judas Syndrome
Why did Judas follow Jesus? What was he hoping for? Our beloved brother John MacArthur, had this to share when he was here with us,
“I don’t think he was particularly attracted by the spiritual, I think he was attracted on the selfish level. I don’t think it was really Jesus alone that drew him; I think it was what Jesus could do for him that drew him. He saw the power of Jesus, and he believed that this man would bring the Kingdom. And he was not interested in the Kingdom for the Kingdom’s sake or for Christ’s sake; he was interested in the Kingdom for what he might gain from it if he were on the inner circle. So, he’s totally motivated by selfishness.”
Judas was not loyal to Jesus Christ. He was loyal to who he wanted Jesus to be —and when he realised that the Messiah was not the caricature he wanted, he wanted Him dead. Because Judas didn’t want to submit to Christ, he wanted to have the power himself.
“But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, ‘Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.’ He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.” – John 12:4–6
Like the Pharisees of his day, Judas wanted people to worship him. And just like the modern day Pharisees, the BBC and those on their payslip, want you to worship them. Many seemingly independent journalists, podcasters and even supposed Christian journalists, while speaking truth on some issues, are of the same satanic spirit.
The same is true for us today. Yes, every single one of our hearts are treacherous, and yes, God says that none of us are good or righteous (Romans 3:10), yet there are those parading as Christians who will not address their own stony, dark heart and repent. They want it to stay dark. And so they will pray with you, walk with you on your journey, even help you in your journey in Christ, but when it comes down to it, they’re not serving the same King you are. Their allegiance is to themselves and their own ambitions. Even if they don’t esteem to the greatest heights of the kingdom of darkness, you can guarantee that their own sense of self-importance and self-righteousness takes precedence in their heart, when all is said and done. And if that means throwing you or anyone else under the bus when the time comes, they’ll do it.
The Need to Expose The Judas Syndrome
“And after the piece of bread, Satan then entered into him. Therefore Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” (John 13:27)
At the right time, Jesus told Judas to leave.
“Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme.” (1 Timothy 1:20)
The Apostle Paul named false teachers to expose their corrupt and damaging deeds on the church.
The precedent is clear. We must not allow ourselves to be fed on, attacked, vilified and abused by the ravenous wolves, no matter how nice they appear.
We must firstly remove these people from our lives before they cause more damage to us and to others. No matter how hard or painful that feels, we cannot truly walk with God and abide in our Lord, if we are being fed on and damaged by people who are literally pulling us away from Him —especially when they do so in His name.
Secondly, we must warn our brothers and sisters about these people, so that they do not prey on them either. It’s not enough that they’re out of your life. If they prey on other Christians, then you and I are accountable to that damage too.
We must do this in love, mournfully, desperately, carefully in prayer, seeking that they would earnestly repent and humble themselves before God. We love these people no less than we do anyone else. They are our neighbours, and our enemies too.
This is precisely why we need to grow in purpose built communities, filled with the Holy Spirit. Not pseudo communities where everyone appears “nice” to each other all the time, while arrogantly judging each other silently. Not business networks where the priority is transactional financial value over human connection. True community can be brutal at times in its pursuit of deep communion and truth. Nowhere near as brutal than the very sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us. But as He commanded us, we must carry our own cross and each other’s burdens. While the Judas spirit will always try and invade community to cause division, dissipation and dissention, it cannot truly remain in true community in Christ.

Editors Note: Since publishing this article, we have sought legal counsel. As of the 22nd April, 2026, we can now announce the name of this individual in concern. We do so with a very heavy heart, after much consideration for them, their personal situation and for the Body of Christ. Reluctantly, we have come to this decision to name the individual, who is Christian Hacking, the self-identified “very amateur” independent Christian journalist. We are now able to share details about Mr Hacking as a major and urgent case study, for the Body of Christ to be very astute, discerning and aware of the dangers and threats that can come in the guise of a seemingly supportive brother or sister in Christ. Mr Hacking remains in all of our prayers, that he repent for the damage he has caused and the wrongs he has conducted. It is our most sincere and earnest hope and prayer that we come to know Mr Hacking as a true brother in the Spirit of our Lord.

Thank you so much Paul for bringing this to us. This was a hard read for two reasons. First for the Judas syndrome I’ve experienced personally and reliving experiences in relationships, and second because of the dark and stony heart I have that only God is able to clean. The selfishness in me and the way I treat Jesus is reflected in my life. And I want Him to destroy that to make me a truly new creation in Him for His glory. All for His glory. Thank you for the work you’re doing and the precedent you’re setting here. God have mercy on us all.
Thank you for this incredibly sobering article, Paul. As Sukh has shared below, it resonates on two levels. Starting with myself, so that I can see and discern it more clearly in others, is where my focus will be. May God bless us all and have mercy on us. Amen.
This is yet another really important article to follow the one on Grown Up Christianity. My personal experiences over the last 6 or so years have taught me a great deal about betrayal. I naively thought that it would be different with those identifying as Christian. Recent events have taught me otherwise, but with this I get to mature in my discernment and faith.
This is highly sobering reading. Firstly to question where I do things for my own gain in the name of being a Christian – and also the need to be discerning and wise in relation to those who would take advantage of me and others. It makes sense why the Bible talks so much about keeping our lamps burning ready for danger.
Thank you. This article has helped me recognise where I’ve been naïve and how important it is to stay aware of both external and internal attacks. I hadn’t fully considered how the “Judas syndrome” still plays out today, or how crucial it is to discern and confront any form of evil with wisdom and integrity.
Only by doing so can we build strong, healthy communities in Christ and truly come together as the Body of Christ.
Something I’m becoming very aware of is Satan’s nature and how that represents itself in the world, and right here I see it in Judas Iscariot. I also see how they will put their own needs before the commandments of Christ, even manipulating scripture for their own gain while seemingly following them. I know accepting Satan’s nature will be found in the Body of Christ, smiling in my face while stabbing me in the back. There are stories I’ve heard from the last church I went to while living in London, of women who borrowed a large sum of money, maybe in the tens of thousands, and left the country. My bugbear was hiding weakness behind scriptures and turning away from doing what is right. This is a massive call to serve.
Thank you for this powerful and oh so essential piece that, in the context of Targeted, is so crucial to understand and keep keenly in our awareness. It’s a topic that I think the vast majority of Christians, to their peril, avoid addressing and shy away from because they don’t want to offend or get things wrong. But if we owned chickens or lambs would we allow wolves to run rampant amongst them because we didn’t want to be offensive? And getting things wrong will always help us to learn and can bring us closer together. So I appreciate so much more from reading this why true community in Christ is needed for this, to have that vigilance between one another because the love and care for each other is so strong.
A distinction I learned a while back that I think is so pertinent here is that, while all the other disciples said, “is it I LORD?” Judas said “Rabbi, is it I?” The distinction being that Judas did not refer to Jesus as his LORD, but as his teacher. He had not submitted to the authority and true identity of Jesus as the Christ and God incarnate. I think that is where we need to go to first in ourselves, to test where and how much we may be resisting Christ’s authority and position in our life, not just as our saviour, but as our Lord! Submission to Him is what will align us with His commandments, divine laws and guiding light principles.
John MacArthur’s thoughts are really valuable to read over and think about with this. To examine in ourselves and each other where our true motivations lie and how we see Christ. Not just how we see Him, but how we treat Him too.
What I think about when I read this is Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5. I think about how they would have been in the community, pretending to be on the same page but in their hearts, they harboured unbelief and were holding back whilst people were being targeted and martyred. But Peter through the Holy Spirit knew. It has to be recognised that those in our midst as the Body, claiming to be brothers or sisters, when it comes down to it may be acting against us and God. It is utterly heartbreaking, not just because the betrayal is painful but because the warning from Jesus about Judas and the judgement that awaits him ought to give everyone pause.
Bless you Paul, thank you for this powerful article
Thank you for this extremely pertinent and timely article. Thank you for laying out the reasons we need to know what the Judas syndrome is because this is not a message we can read about one day and then forget…our spiritual lives, our loved ones, our purpose-built communities, are very likely to be significantly impacted without our discernment and awareness of those who would sit and work amongst us with ulterior motives.
I pray for us all to seek discernment and guidance from the Holy Spirit as we move closer together in preparation for the very difficult times ahead as Christian’s.
This article is a call to our brothers and sisters to open their eyes to the truth about the dangers out in the world. You are highlighting just what we need to be aware of because we are so blindsided. The establishment scams us in so many ways that we are not aware of what is right and who we can and can’t trust.
I so so appreciate this article because it helps me to switch on, as Judas hid in the 12, other than in a purpose-built community, I and we need to know who it is we are connecting with and if they are sheep, or wolves in sheep’s clothing.
As my mentor explained to me; “The harsh reality of betrayal is that it is always done by someone you know.”
This may appear obvious after the fact but the reality is you can trust someone for years, work with them, party with them, help each other and not know that they will – when things get touch for them – stab you in the back.
Being aware of the Judas Syndrome and praying to Christ for His guidance and direction is incredibly important in build communities and personal relationships.
