Grace and peace in Christ to you,
Note: Given Paul’s longstanding ill health resulting from the multiple attacks on him, these prayers are taken from the last several years of Paul’s journey with our Lord. They are incredibly valuable to witness his ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Listen below for the prayer:
Father, morning. Thank You for bringing us protected through the night. So many have been murdered, raped, betrayed, died in their sleep.
And how many of us woke up this morning feeling entitled to wake up? Our childish state, our deep, infantilised, old infantilised state, our entitlement knows no bounds. And you know, Father, the person that affects first is us, because to not appreciate just waking up, when so many others are not waking up this morning. That would love to have woken up this morning alive, would love to have woken up this morning, not raped, would love to have woken up this morning, not abused, would love to have woken up, but died 10 years ago.
Would love to have woken up today but died a thousand years ago, would love to have woken up without having lost a child. Would love to have woken up this morning without every possible, possible millions of possible things that could have gone wrong. Would love to have woken up this morning with Your fruitages of Your Spirit.
Every night we’re going to see, we have an opportunity to wake up with the experience of those fruitages at the very, very least. So Father, thank You that we woke up this morning safe in You. When the whole of Lucifer’s world wants us dead, wants us at least to suffer greatly, wants to kill people we love, wants to boil our flesh in oil, and yet we woke up safely and taking totally for granted that because we don’t know what You do to protect us every single day, that You are not protecting us every single day.
No one should worship a god, everyone should worship the God, don’t confuse it, don’t confuse it. A god that is a little statue, or a god that’s a little book, or a god that’s a little religion, or a god that’s a little political party, or a god that’s a woman or a man, or a god that is money, or a god that is human. No, not a god, you don’t have to worship a god, absolutely, but you have to be connected to the God, whether you like it or not, whether I like it or not.
As I say to people, that’s how it is. And so every day, the light gets brighter and brighter, Father, as I appreciate Your perspicuity, Your view, Your support, everything You do behind the scenes, Father, we don’t even know about. What You do behind and what You do ahead of us in the scenes. Behind the scenes, ahead of the scenes, and in the scenes.
So we ask You to bless this call, my Lord, to put Your warriors into the training gear that we need to be in order to move through this and achieve, seeking first Your Kingdom. Because seeking first Your Kingdom means that all righteous, noble, healthy, principled, everything valuable, everything, eternally infinite, valuable as value; theochristological value, human value, material value, and financial value, that all things of value are taken care of through seeking first that Kingdom. And all other things will be added to you, to us, interdependent, synergistic, symbiotic, with the synchronicity of being in the Kingdom, in sync, the way, the truth, interdependently, synergistically, symbiotically, and in sync, rather than down the drain, down the plug hole, down the sink, in sync.
And Father, we ask You to forgive the sins, our sins, first of all. What sins? The worst sins. What are our worst sins? We ask You what those sins are, and the answer that comes to me when I ask that question, what are our worst sins? Our worst sins are the sins we don’t even know we’re sinning, our condition, how deep it is, how broad it is, how sinful we are.
How You’ve demonstrated that to me over the last week, and our sinful condition without Your common grace, without Your advanced grace, without grace at all, gracelessness, to be in total wretch mode, murderous. So we ask You to forgive our worst sins, and our worst sins, we don’t even know what they are. We ask You to forgive those, forgive them, Father, forgive us, and those who trespass against us.
We ask You to forgive our sins we don’t even know we’re sinful for, which is 99.9, 99.9, 99.9% of our sins plus, 99.9% plus, Father, of our sins and our lives we’ve forgotten about, conveniently. We ask You to forgive us all our sins in our life we’ve forgotten about. We ask You to forgive all the sins we’re not aware of because of our stupid, blindsided, nonsense condition, sinful condition, so sinful, that with all the medication in the world, with all the medical science in the world, we still die in under 100 years on average, way under, not even close to 100.
This wonderful, wonderful, wonderful body, heart, mind, and spirit combination. So we thank You for this perspicuity in these conversations, you see, we ask You to forgive those sins that we don’t know about, the sin we are that we don’t know about. We don’t even know that.
Thank God for Your grace, Father, because there’s too much to learn about our sin to even get to doing something about it, even if we could, there’s that much of it. Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to sin, sin leads to death. This incredible body, this incredible heart, mind, and spirit leads to death after 50-70 years.
Wow! We ask You to forgive our many sins and shortcomings. 99.9999999999% we don’t even know about it. And what we do know about it, 99% we don’t even understand what that is, the depth of it, the breadth of it, the height of it, the substance of that sin, we have no idea.
But we’re asking You to forgive it, by Your grace, in our dumbness, our limitedness, our imperfection, that the whole thing dies and is dying constantly because of sin. That is how bad sin is. It literally is a death sentence from conception.
It’s that bad. No medical science, no medicines, no amount of love, no amount of excitement, joy, happiness, love, fun, heartache, marriage, change. Children can change that.
But the biggest cause of death, the ultimate cause of death, cause of all causes and the cause within all causes, is sin. Sin. Missing the mark of life, missing the mark of the way, missing the mark of the truth, missing the mark of the life, missing the mark of You.
We thank You in advance. We thank You for the faith to thank You in advance. We thank You for the confide to thank You in advance.
We thank You for the belief in instilling us to moving up on an upward spiral of high-level 4 conviction for the same reason, because You granted us that paradigm, that worldview, that living and life, that reality-based view. We ask You Father, thanking You for all these things, through Your Son’s name, Jesus Christ, our Commander-in-Chief, our Dad.
Amen.
God’s grace to you,

Amen. 🙏 a sobering and much needed prayer. God bless you and us all. Thank you 🙏
I need this reinforce, daily. Father, please pierce and dissect my heart to be Yours.
Thank you 🙏 We are living in a world where sin is not only minimised but at also in some cases, lauded and encouraged. Please Father, help us to be self examining and honest, repent and confess our sins to You.
Amen. Thank you yet again for a touching prayer. God bless
Amen. A humbling, but incredibly relevant prayer. I cringe at the level of hubristic pride that I’ve lived with through my life. This prayer serves as a vital reminder.
Amen – Heavenly Father thank you for the grace you have given me today and the protection 🙏
Amen. A powerful reminder to wake up to our sin and turn to God’s mercy with honesty and humility. 🙏
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.” — 1 John 1:9
Thank you for this prayer. So much to appreciate and what a reminder how much I take for granted in my life. I pray that I become more aware and more grateful. Amen.
This prayer reminds me of a close friend who died in her sleep. I know God has a plan for us all, but I’m sure she would appreciate the chance for another go at life, and wake up again. Thank you for helping me appreciate every morning.
To think of all the sins that I have committed through my lifetime, the 99.99999% that I am not even aware of, it’s deeply humbling to sit and know that Christ has paid the price for all of them. Father I thank you so much for your grace and mercy and pray you help sanctify us all in coming out of our sin as much as we can to serve you and each other more righteously, helping us to grieve our sin and repent – thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen 🙏
Amen. Thank you Father, I constantly fall asleep, and I pray that you continue to help wake me up when I do.
