Paul S. Waugh’s Daily Prayer – Repentance, Glory, and the Creator Above Creation – 10th March, 2026

Grace and peace in Christ to you,

Note: Given Paul’s longstanding ill health resulting from the multiple attacks on him, these prayers are taken from the last several years of Paul’s journey with our Lord. They are incredibly valuable to witness his ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Listen below for the prayer:

Father, so I come before You feeling forgiven, feeling love, feeling emotional, feeling obligated to fulfill a promise that You, in Your glory, created. I want to help others realise, my Lord, that in Your glory, and only in Your glory, can we be glorious. And we never have to say no. Just give me a moment, Father. Take a breath.

We never have to say no inside and outside of our doors β€” our front doors β€” where we, in Your glory, ought to say yes. And can say yes. And will say yes because of that said glory β€” the glory that is You, the glory that is infinite, the glory that is human, and the glory that is material and financial; the glory of all things created and valuable through You. My loving… to You, my love.

So with that emotional appeal, I leave this prayer with full repentance amongst us all β€” like little fledglings in a nest of all ages, colours, creeds, cultures, all in one nest. This Lighthouse nest waiting to fly and just needing the glory of Your blessing β€” the glory of Your blessing to bless the glory, all told.

Where one day we won’t have to pray for repentance because You will have restored us to full glory, where every breath praises You, because we are You in some form β€” we are in You, with You, for You, through You, eternal and infinite. My Lord, thank the living God You are. Thank the Lord. Thank Christ.

Thank You, Father. Thank You, Holy Spirit, that we are so dim-witted, so unintelligent, so foolish, so short-sighted, so far from genius and so far from glory that we think Your creation is You β€” because it makes a nice [inaudible], the evil, render themselves parentless on an eternal and infinite level, as a parent ought to be eternally and infinitely glorious as You are, chooses, as in Lucifer, to worship the creation rather than the Creator β€” virtual footballers and musicians, human beauty, mountain ranges and sunsets, canyons and generals of war, Napoleon, whoever.

We ask You to forgive our many sins, Father, and ultimately we ask You to forgive the reason for our sin β€” our sinful state and the reasons for that sinful state.

The reasons that we are able to sit and pray and get answers from You. You know what I’m like, Father. You know how tricky I can be. You know me. I’ll sit here one day and say, β€œFather, why do we die? A third of the angels betrayed You, yet they still live. The other two-thirds still live, yet we as humans did the same thing, and we die with great suffering, including children. Why?”

What do You tell me, Father? The reason for that is because angels do not have the joy of procreation, and we do. We have the joy of procreation, and because we procreate, we pass on our sin to them. Angels don’t procreate. Because we procreate, every generation gets worse. Generation gets worse.

Please, Father, please show us not to be this way.

We ask these things through Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

A powerful prayer and reminder to keep the Creator above creation. Repentance and humility before God are something I constantly need to return to, and reflections like this help refocus the heart on what truly matters.

Amen. I appreciate the fact that the only glory is through God, through Christ and through the Holy Spirit. We are so very fortunate to have His mercy and His forgiveness because of His love.

Where would we be without our God!? That’s a frightening question to ask and truly contemplate. We are so ridiculously haughty and deluded to think we can be anything of any value and do any good without Him. We are so useless and pathetic without His grace and His spirit and so blessed to know Him and to be growing in Him and with Him! Praise God.
