Paul S Waugh’s Daily Prayer – A Prayer to Embrace Suffering for Righteousness’ Sake – 29th Jan, 2026

Grace and peace in Christ to you,

Listen below to Paul’s Daily Prayer:

Father,

Such a blessing to be able to start our morning in this way. Such a blessing to start our day with the perspicuity, with the condition, with the reality to know that You are with us every second of the day and every part of that second, right to its smallest possible part of that second, You are there. Protecting, observing, loving, sanctifying, directing, guiding, reinforcing, allowing us to fall, preventing us from falling, all in the same minute, depending on what You want us to learn, and most of us here are on basic training, as babies, becoming adults.

The difference between objective truth…

To know the difference between saying the hard truth and feeling uncomfortable with it, and knowing that that discomfort, isn’t a bad thing, that what you’re having to do is declare the truth of what is bad, and to declare the truth of what is bad, unless we are a psychopath, or demonic in our own right. Father, calling out badness doesn’t feel good. It is good.

Dying for my wife and child doesn’t feel good. Oh boy, but it is good! Dying to save them! Dying to protect children coming out of oppressive families, opposed families, opposed to truth, opposed to health, opposed to love, in the name of it, anti-love, pro-evil, pro-non-love, in the name of it.

When we call it out, it doesn’t feel good. When we call our parents out for that, it doesn’t feel good at all, but it is good.

Having a heart operation, by Your blessing Father, it does not feel good!

For starters, we couldn’t even have the operation without anaesthetic. We’d die just from that, from shock. It does not feel good, but boy, a heart operation successfully done by a good surgeon, that You allowed to come into this world, that You allowed to be that surgeon, while You guided that surgeon’s hand, because when a demon is lying there, because by Your grace You still are gracing that person.

When a warrior is getting the bullets taken out of his flesh, and You guide that surgeon’s hand, it doesn’t feel good. Not for You, not for me, not for them, not for anyone, but it is good. That surgeon’s hand, slicing the flesh, it does not feel good, but it is good.

Taking a hit does not feel good, but it is good, for righteousness sake, that You can show us this perspicuity, and we can now go out into the world and educate people with this, because people do not have a voice in Christianity, because they do not know where they stand between what is objective and subjective. Because their parents are old infants themselves, infantilised themselves and do not know the difference between what is good speech, and what is bad speech, and what feels good, and what feels bad, and what the difference is.

Because for me, I know at least a hundred things in my life that feel very good and are very bad, and I know at least a thousand things that feel very bad, but are very good, and that’s the difference between objective and subjective.

It’s the difference, and they always work together, and that’s why most truths are paradoxical, because most truths come with pain! Most truths come with black and white. Black cannot have white, white cannot have black.

It is both there. Black contrasts against white, white against black, and people don’t understand the difference, because they’re not grown up. Because they’re not educated in living, and life, and humanity, and what is moral, what is ethical, what is real, what is true, what is healthy, what is holy, what is wholesome.

What a privilege, what a pleasure, Father.

What a joy. What a privilege to be able to sit here and honour You for these wonderful things we’re learning today, because you know what, Father, we’re all Your children, even the demons.

Father, we come cap in hand, on bended knee, with bowed heads, in absolute humble gratitude for Your greatness in the light of fallen humanity. And the contrast is just unimaginable. Unimaginably large. It’s just so big, we can’t even see it.

So big, we struggle to get on bended knee and hold the cap in our hands, because the contrast is so great, we almost fall in it and drown.

I want to thank You ahead of time for your blessing with these lessons and these learnings. These lessons and these learnings become deeply embedded in our character through Your grace, through Your spirit, through Your truth, through Your way, through the life You have given us, and the life You have in store for us that we have no idea of.

When we speak of life, we know what it is. You have The way and The truth and The life at a way, at a level, at the eternal and infinite level, but we, once looking back at what our understanding of those three words were, those three realities were, we will not even recognise how we lived and who we were!

Our mouths will be… like our jaws will be hitting the floor.

We ask You to forgive our many sins, our many shortcomings. We ask for Your protection, Your insight, Your direction, throughout the day today, through Your Son, King and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, our Dad, and who we love with all our hearts.

Amen.

God’s grace to you,

Amen. The lesson on pain and suffering—and how necessary it is, even when it doesn’t feel good—really spoke to me. Thank you for this heartfelt prayer, full of truth, love, and deep conviction. God bless you, Paulie, and God bless us all. x x

Thank you Paul for teaching me about having real, accurate expectations for life; to embrace genuine necessary suffering, pain and grief. Thank You Lord for Your immeasurable sacrifice that You make every moment of every day. I pray for the strength of faith and honour to love, with whatever it takes to be loyal and loving to You.

Amen. Really invaluable prayer to recognise the difference between subjective and objective truth. The lie of, “if it feels goods, it is good” is one that causes so much unnecessary pain and suffering. The fact that we have so many things that feel good but are bad for us are a big sign of how fallen we are as humanity.

Please Father, help me to see the difference between what’s true and what’s false and give me the strength to stand up for what’s right, even if it requires suffering and if it doesn’t feel good. Thank you for Your love. Amen.

Awesome. Thank you for this powerful prayer. “Calling out badness doesn’t feel good, IT IS good!” So well put! It’s such an critical distinction to understand, that because something feels good doesn’t mean it is good and that because something feels bad doesn’t mean it is. Satan wants us to follow our feelings and judge by what we feel, not by what is true, what is righteous, what is according to God’s laws and commandments, regardless of how we feel. The Bible says that our hearts are treacherous and that is true.

You are right that so many of us don’t learn these basic and yet all important distinctions about life and how infantile that renders us. We live in a world dictated and led by it’s capricious and irrational and subjectively motivated feelings that is wreaking such havoc because it is devoid of principle, value and virtue. Father please bring this lesson to as many hearts and minds as possible today and ongoing. Please open the eyes of the foolish, the ignorant and the blind to see the truth and strengthen them in order to suffer in the truth, for the truth, for what is truly good and righteous, for your Glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen 🙏

I pray for the ability and strength to see reality and objective truth, while knowing such things will likely hurt. Amen.
