Paul S. Waugh’s Daily Prayer – A Prayer On The Rock of Christ – Nov 29, 2025

Good evening everyone,

Here’s today’s Daily Prayer:

Let’s pray.

Morning Father, we come to You as a group—Your loyal servants, Your loyal warriors, Your loyal, committed soldiers in Christ and in God, in You and the Father and the Holy Spirit. And every day we are planted more by You, because we cannot plant ourselves. Trees do not plant themselves—they are planted by You. The wind plants. The rain plants. Gravity plants. The earth’s movement plants. Animals plant. Birds plant. In their very stools, during their very elimination process, they plant.

But when it comes to planting the ultimate tree—the ultimate tree on earth, because we know that the ultimate tree is Your Kingdom, and it is described as a tree—as Christ described it, as Your Son described it, as our mentor, coach, counsellor, leader, teacher described it, as our Redeemer described it, as the One we love and adore and are protected by… the Kingdom starts as a tiny seed. Thousands of years ago, that little seed was planted, and it has been growing day in and day out.

It grows into a mighty, mighty, mighty tree—a mighty oak under whose branches we will live and be protected. Not something that happens overnight, but something that grows. And the most important tree on earth is the tree that is Your body. Because Your body is a forest, right? Your body is a forest of trees. And each one of those trees, Father, was planted on the rock.

These are special trees—not planted in soil where we could be uprooted by Satan’s attacks, where we could be killed off with poisons and weaponry. No, no, no. This tree is planted on rock. The rock of Christ. The King of Kings. The Lord of Lords. King of what? King of the Kingdom. And we are planted in that rock, my Lord—the rock that is You. Planted in You.

What greatness. What wonder. To the extent that You say we are foolish to be anxious—foolish to be anxious about anything when planted in the rock that is You. Through You—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—Your common power, the divine power that is shared by all three persons of God, feeds our souls. It feeds our beings, our minds, our hearts, our lives, our protections, our risks, our opportunities.

You fuel us. You enliven us. You live with us like streams of water flowing from the rock that is You. We are planted in a rock that is You, and with that comes everything that You provide—Father, in Your time, not ours. Glory be to You every time.

Along with that rock, You also provide nourishing water. And with these streams of water come love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, and everything else that flows from the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Peace. Patience. Everything that comes with Your streams of water.

Father, we need to pray. We struggle to pray to the degree that we are automated. We struggle to pray because we are breaking ourselves out of our automation—out of our little numbskull cocoons. But in Your streams of water, You provide us with the need, with the ability, with the desire to connect with You. You provide us with every need, and protect us from the wants that are not good for us. Not all wants are good for us; not all that we think are needs are truly needs or truly good.

So here we are—planted by You, no one else. You are the Gardener, planting us.

You bring us into Your mighty, growing, developing, maturing forest—educated through the theochristological, through the human, through the material, through the financial. In other words, through You the Creator, into Your creation—human, material, financial, into value. You plant us in this awesome forest globally, and we want to praise You for how glorious this is. We worship You for Your absolute power.

If You were in the flesh right now, embodied, it would be tempting not to worship the very ground You walk on—even though that would be idolatry and breaking the first two commandments. But still, meeting You in the flesh… it would be very tempting not to worship the ground You had just walked on.

You will come and collect Your Bride. And it is repentance that enables that, that triggers that. And it is only Your Spirit that enables us to repent.

We pray for those who have not received it; for those who will receive it one day—may they receive it soon. For those who will never receive it, I pray in sympathy for their souls. Not empathy—I do not know what that will be like. But sympathy.

We pray all of this in Your name, my Lord—in Your glorious name, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

God’s grace to you,

Paul S. Waugh

To know that God is our eternal Rock and our safety is incredibly comforting, especially during these times and amidst the challenges we face both internally and externally. Thank you for this prayer, Paul, and for emphasising that truth—bringing us back to Him through your prayers, leadership, guidance, and support. God bless you and us all.

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:3 Thank you for this prayer. Praise our wonderful and magnificent God for His wonderful work in us that plants us, grows and nurtures us in His rich spiritual soil and on the rock of Christ. We can do nothing to earn this, but He is gracious and loving and forgiving. Thank you so much Father and please bless the growing forest that is the Body of Christ.

Paul is so spot on right about our struggle to pray and I have come to know that I can do very, very little without starting in prayer. Praise God that He has provided a way for us to communicate with Him, what a mighty God we serve 🙏

Lord Jesus thank you for who you are. Thank you for the gift of prayer. I’m sorry I don’t abide in You as I ought to each moment. Please help us all firmly root ourselves in You and no longer in the self and mutual deceit of this world. In You name and Your will… Amen

We are so very blessed to be planted by Him. Thank you Paul for the much-needed reminder to come back to Psalm 1:

He is like a tree
  planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
(Psalm 1:3-4)

I pray to remember in each moment of every day that I am only here because of Him.

What a powerful and rich prayer. The imagery of God planting us in the rock of Christ and sustaining us with His living water really struck me. It shows both humility and strength. Thank you for helping me to see the importance of repentance, growth, and trust in God’s timing 🙏
