| Note – Because Paul has been so unwell, we are sharing these articles from the hundreds of thousands of pages of transcripts and audios of our Lighthouse research, in order to share with you—the reader—what Paul has learned and taught over the last twenty one years. In 2021-2022, the BBC unlawfully obtained highly sensitive and personal data through criminally stolen transcripts of personal and group counselling sessions and misrepresented them to the public in their docu-myth. An act of diabolical pride in and of itself! They will never live it down. They tried to decimate the public’s perception of Paul and all of us at Lighthouse Global, and have only succeeded in making us stronger, Glory to God! They know they wilfully deceived the British and global citizens. Repent! |
Most people talk about “control” like it’s a conspiracy theory.
They say “the elites”, “the government”, “the media”, “the system”—and then they pour out an endless stream of headlines and villains.
While there is a lot of truth in how much over-control these Establishment agencies have, often a lot of these discussions only create more noise in the name of understanding “control”.
If you want freedom—real freedom—you must first understand what control actually is.
Because control is not optional. Control is built into creation. Control is governance toward an outcome.
And if you do not learn to govern your own mind, attention, habits, and conscience under God, you won’t remain “uncontrolled.” You’ll just be controlled by whatever can capture you.
This article is working at the root of understanding the core differences between communities and cults. Because before we dive into the secondary elements of both, we must understand the fundamental issue being fought over: control.
Understanding What Control Is

This sounds obvious—until you try to define it. Most people have never been trained to think about control as a structure in their own life; they’ve only been trained to react to it politically. So let’s define it plainly.
Control is the governance of:
- awareness (what you notice and what you ignore)
- choices (what you permit yourself to decide)
- behaviour (what you repeatedly do)
- material and financial resources (what you consume and what you conserve)
- environment (what you allow around you)
- relationships (who influences you in all areas of your personal and professional life)
- and outcomes (what your life produces)
That is control: the architecture of your life.
So the question is never “is there control here or not?”
The question is: who is controlling what, toward which outcome, and by what method?
A parent controls a toddler and their movements, their diet, their sleep, their clothing and so much more—if they love them.
Remove those controls and you do not get “freedom”. You get chaos. You get destruction.
But if that same parent takes that control too far… for example if they control those same things about that same child, when the child is 18 or 25… that is not only unnecessary, it is unhealthy, destructive, disempowering and debilitating.
So let’s be precise: control is not automatically evil.
What is evil is control that is deceptive, self-serving, and anti-love.
That leads us to the most important dividing line most people never learn.
Two Origins of Control: Love vs Anti-Love

There are two fundamental types of control:
- Control to love (constructive, truthful, life-giving)
- Control that is anti-loving (deconstructive, manipulative, life-draining)
They are not the same thing with different “levels”.
They are different in origin.
One originates in God. The other originates in Satan.
Let’s examine both…
Control to Love (God-Origin Control)
God’s control is not egoic domination, and it is not the insecurity of a tyrant who needs to be obeyed to feel powerful. God’s control is constructive love: it creates, it defines reality, it tells the truth, and it governs toward life.
God’s sovereignty is the foundation of reality, and within that reality He gives human beings real agency and real stewardship. Being made in the image of God means you were designed to govern—first yourself, then your responsibilities, then whatever sphere of influence God gives you.
”God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that creeps on the earth.”” – Genesis 1:28
In practical terms, that means learning to govern your attention, your words, your reactions, your habits, your relationships, your work, and your stewardship. God’s control does not weaken you into dependency; it strengthens you into adulthood. It is the difference between a father raising a child into maturity, and a tyrant keeping a population in permanent infancy.
“Who is the man who delights in life and loves many days that he may see good? Guard your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry for help. The face of Yahweh is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.” – Psalm 34:12-16

Anti-Love Control (Satan-Origin Control)
Sinister control has a different aim entirely.
It is not interested in building you; it is interested in using you and destroying you with your complicity. It cannot win by truth, because truth produces repentance, courage, and clarity—things that make you difficult to dominate. So it wins by deception—and then by dissipation: it scatters your attention, fractures your will, and makes you too tired to resist. It takes something true, then corrupts it through framing, missing context, emotional leverage, and incentives that make the lie feel preferable to the truth.
“And the serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”” – Genesis 3:4-5
The result is dissipation; disabling and disempowering a human being to not only turn further away from God, but further away from themselves. We see this very clearly in modern life. Many people think they’re free because they have a salary, a mortgage, and an endless stream of consumable comforts. But comfort can be a leash. If you can’t say “no” to what is destroying you—and you can’t say “yes” to what you know is right—then you’re not free. You’re merely well-managed.
We think we’re free because we want to believe the lie. Satanic control is rooted in evil. That is not some Disney-esque red horned being with a pitchfork in his hands. Evil is far more sinister, pernicious and cunning than that. As renowned psychologist Dr M. Scott Peck defined it, evil simply put is bad intentions and wicked intentions, enacted in the name of good. In other words, evil will do everything in its power to never let you see it coming.

Why the Most Effective Control Feels Good
Most people think control looks like a cage, so when they cannot see a cage they assume they are free. But the most effective control rarely feels like a cage. It feels like comfort. It feels like relief. It feels like normality. It feels like belonging. It feels like safety. It feels like protection.
This is what makes the BBC and their fake whistleblowers so appealing to so many people. A hit-piece like “A Very British Cult” is presented as serving the public interest, looking out for your safety, protecting you from getting taken advantage of… meanwhile the BBC are doing exactly that to you while you watch (and are forced to pay for) their programmes. This is why their disa-star, Jeffrey Leigh Jones, was so instrumental. As someone who is incredibly sychophantic and loathed to working hard where he really needs it, he was a perfect stooge to try and portray Lighthouse as a controlling cult, when in fact the real issue Jeffrey had, was his own poor work ethic. See the video below to compare his attitude to Olympic champion and record-breaker, Michael Phelps. The former sold out control of his life to the BBC and his own toxic girlfriend, while the latter knew that he had to give up a lot of his luxuries to take control and become the champion he was striving to be:
Healthy Control vs Sinister Control: The Test
So how do you tell the difference between control to love and control to scam in real life? You test the fruit, and test the method: Does it rely on truth or on impression-management? Does it strengthen consent and conscience, or bypass them? Does it increase accountability—or dissolve it? Loving, constructive, healthy control tells the truth even when it hurts, because it is aiming at your long-term good. It strengthens conscience, responsibility, and courage. It increases your capacity to think clearly, choose rightly, and act with integrity. It makes you more capable of service, and it produces fruit like repentance, clarity, love, order, and maturity.
Anti-love control does the opposite. It uses partial truth to imply a lie. It leverages fear, shame, pride, and relief to move you where it wants you. It weakens conscience through dependency and trains you to outsource responsibility. And the fruit is predictable: confusion, cowardice, addiction, infantilism, and division.
This is not theoretical. You can apply it immediately by asking simple questions: what outcome is this control trying to produce, and who benefits from that outcome? What questions am I being pressured not to ask? What emotion is being used to move me—fear, shame, pride, or relief? If I accept this frame, what responsibility do I lose? And, at the deepest level, does this make me more loving, more truthful, more courageous, and more accountable—or less?

In Closing: The War for Control Over Your Life
If control is the battleground, then the question that decides the war is simple: who is controlling you?
Truth forms you, or comfort forms you. God’s constructive love forms you, or satanic deception forms you. One grows you into maturity; the other keeps you in permanent infancy while calling it freedom.
And if you want to understand why the world looks the way it looks right now, start here: most people do not know what control is, so they cannot recognise it. And what you cannot recognise, you cannot resist. But once you can name it objectively, you can see it. Once you can see it, you can repent where you’ve submitted to the wrong governance. Then you can begin the only real work any of us are here for: to come under God’s control so you can learn self-government—so you can love properly, serve properly, build properly, and fight properly.
Because you will be formed. The only question is whether you’ll be formed by truth and love—or by comfort and deception.

Thank you for such a profound article. I can see how my default is to think the word “control” is only negative because of my neural associations with the word, particularly during my formative schooling years along with parents and then later on in the work place. However seeing control in the context of constructive love helps me to see how I and we need to be constantly looking out for and assessing control in a way it helps me build value as well as being more conscious of the way the Establishment has controlled me that I’ve never seen.
This is very powerful. I’ve never, ever been taught about control in the human context. Why have I never been taught about this? I can think of two reasons: either those responsible did not know and have never been taught themselves, and/or it is a deliberate design to deprive me and us at the bottom tier, of learning about our power and abilities as humans. I severely doubt that those at the top tier like the monarchy and other “elites” would not be taught about control! They are involved in control dynamics all the time… so this article is one rumbling that leads to a far bigger picture of educating ordinary men and women about taking control of our lives, our value, our choices and therefore how much control the Establishment do and do not have over us. I am grateful for these powerful insights and want to learn more of what’s to come. God bless you Paul, for your tireless suffering and service to God and to humanity.
It’s incredible what we didn’t learn when we grew up! I know I’d be in a far different place in my life if I knew this before the age of 5.. thank you for this article on what control is from a godly and satanic perspective.
Thank you for this article and for explaining the different roots of “community” and “cult” and how they relate to each other.
By default, I tend to see control as something negative, leading to oppression. However, it’s crucial to understand how important control is for our growth and happiness, and how it relates to creating value. Not understanding control can, by default, limit our access to our potential and even lead to oppression. So, thank you for this crucially important article.
This is a fascinating and extremely important realisation for people to make; that until we understand what control is and what is good and healthy control and what is destructive and dark control, we cannot have true control of our lives. We just aren’t brought up to make these necessary and grown up distinctions that affect so many areas of our lives and we ought to be! KNnowing this is crucial to conscious and successful living. We are all conditioned to think that control is anti-loving but with that one dimensional idea we lose the appreciation and understanding of how control is also needed to grow, to develop and to become the best that we can at anything! Control is either going to limit you and take things from you or develop and enhance things IN you. I mean, what sort of person doesn’t want to have high levels of self control? Having control and being in control is essential for any success, so when anyone is trying to control us away from gaining control for ourselves, that’s when we need to step back and seriously question them and why they’re doing that and what it’s designed to do either to or for us. Thank you for sharing these insights!
This was genuinely a really useful read. What stood out most to me was the distinction between control that strengthens a person into maturity and responsibility, and control that weakens them into dependency. That feels far more useful than the vague descriptions a lot of so-called cult experts give, which could be stretched to fit almost any organisation, family, school, church, or community if you wanted them to.
Because the truth is, some form of control or structure exists everywhere. The real question isn’t just whether it’s there, but what it’s actually producing in people. Is it making people more awake, more honest, more responsible, more capable of thinking clearly and acting from conscience — or more dependent, compliant, confused, and cut off from themselves?
What also landed for me was the point that unhealthy control often doesn’t feel oppressive at first. It can feel like belonging, relief, certainty, safety, even love. That’s what makes it hard to recognise.
Whether people agree with every part of this or not, I think this is a much more intelligent and discerning way of looking at the issue than some so-called “cult experts” do.
Really appreciate this article that challenges the perception that most people have around control.
Like many words describing very healthy aspects of life and business, it’s been emotionally charged and weaponised. “Controlling” is used as a word to smear and attack someone’s character in a vague, non-specific way.
Meanwhile if we want to achieve optimal outcomes for our lives, businesses, careers and relationships, we need to exercise varying levels of control in a wise, mature and discerning way. Most people lack the strong character required to make the judgment calls required for effective control and hence lead chaotic lives.
Lastly it’s interesting that one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is actually self-control. God values the fact that we can control ourselves despite all the opportunities to be distracted and deceived.
Looking forward to learning more on this whole subject.
Wow, what an article…Powerful, thank you. What I value is how you highlight the difference between Godly control to Love and Satanic control. I value it because it reveals so much about me, where I still allow myself to be controlled, moving away from love into anti-love. What you shared about Jeffrey Leigh-Jones and the difference between him and Michael Phelps, seeing the difference between WANTING what you dream of and just saying it, and that is through hard work and commitment. Michael was in control; he knew what he wanted and was willing to suffer for it. What happened? He received the rewards.
This is an article that I want to go back to, and I look forward to the next one in this series.
Thank you for this very insightful article. Thank you for the break down of the types of control because this is critical to know as every human being wants to have control of their lives but we need to know what is healthy, progressive control and what isn’t. We also need to know how we are being controlled by the Establishment and what that looks like in our everyday lives.
It is essential to know the difference between true loving control and control for evil ends.
With this understanding and seeing the difference, then I can easily be controlled by malevolent forces while believing I am being cared for!
Look at the fruits of the Holy Spirit, the last and one of the significant fruits is self control, which all about constructive love. How control is shaped in the media as something negative. It’s fascinating how we’re lied to and limited by those who are meant to trustworthy. We must educate ourselves.
Thank you
